The history of cannabis prohibition is one of political corruption, classism, racism and above all greed. There are countless examples of governments and corporate lobbyists using criminalization to control populations by maintaining a climate of fear. At the heart of the movement for decriminalization then, lies a desire to give ordinary people control over their own lives again – to empower them to make the right decision about what is best for their body.
While we have maintained that one of our festival’s fundamental cornerstones is to promote film makers and film production in Norfolk and East Anglia, we are proud to uphold that commitment by presenting Dale Beaumont Brown’s ‘GrassRoots: The Cannabis Revolution’. – Festival Director Jack Brindelli
